Our heritage is more ancient than the Bible. More ancient than Israel. More ancient than the Greeks and Romans. Radiocarbon dates at the Porvenir archeological ruins in Peru go back to 3,750 B.C. Some archeologists say that there are even older dates.

Legal note: The term "Nican Tlaca" is a documented historical term dating back to the early 1500's A.D. Having spoken with two lawyers on the matter, NTUC was advised that the term "Nican Tlaca" alone is not a copyrightable term since it has belonged to the historical record for 500 years. In other words, the term "Nican Tlaca" can be used by anyone and is not the private property of anyone.

Academic note: a 1992 book by James Lockhart documents the 16th-century origins of the term "Nican Tlaca".
